Matt Kemp Placed On Disabled List, Alex Castellanos Recalled To Dodgers From Triple A

The Los Angeles Dodgers made official on Thursday what pretty much everyone assumed was going to happen. Superstar center fielder Matt Kemp has been placed back on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain, just two days after returning from a trip to the DL.

Kemp re-injured his hamstring while scoring from first base on a double in the first inning of Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Dodgers recalled Alex Castellanos from Triple A Albuquerque, where he was hitting .379 with 19 extra-base hits in 22 games. Castellanos, who was acquired last July 31 from the St. Louis Cardinals for Rafael Furcal, made the switch from outfield back to second base this season, where he started 19 games in Triple A.

Castellanos just returned Saturday after missing a month with his own left hamstring injury.
