Dodgers Vs. Brewers Starting Lineups: James Loney Batting Second

The Los Angeles Dodgers look to snap their two-game losing streak on Wednesday night as they host the Milwaukee Brewers in the third game of a four-game series at Dodger Stadium. Clayton Kershaw is on the mound, looking for his fifth win of the season, facing Yovani Gallardo.

James Loney, hitting just .252/.327/.364 this season, is batting second tonight for the first time this season, with Elian Herrera leading off. Tony Gwynn Jr. had done the bulk of leadoff hitting with Matt Kemp on the disabled list and Dee Gordon demoted to the eighth spot, but with Kemp back Gwynn has moved into more of a reserve role. Herrera has batted second nine times this season.

Loney has batted second 17 other times in his career, and has hit .324/.387.544 with six doubles and three home runs during those starts. Loney batted second 14 times in a three-week stretch last season from August 22 to September 12 and the Dodgers went 12-2 in those games.
