The Los Angeles Dodgers look to continue their stellar play at home this season as they open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies Friday night at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers have won four of their five home series this season, including three sweeps, and are 12-3 at home on the season.

Chris Capuano is scheduled to start Friday for the Dodgers, looking to continue his great start. The left-hander who signed a two-year free agent contract with Los Angeles in the offseason is 4-0 with a 2.21 ERA. Capuano has allowed five total runs in his last five starts, and has a current streak of 18 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings.

Jamie Moyer gets the start for the Rockies, looking for his second victory of the season. Moyer at 49 years old this season became the oldest pitcher in major league history to win a game, but has struggled of late, allowing 10 runs in 10 innings over his last two starts, both in Colorado.

Scott Van Slyke made his major league debut for the Dodgers on Wednesday night, and the right-handed batter will likely make his first big league start against the left-handed Moyer on Friday. Moyer faced Van Slyke's father Andy a total of 21 times (the elder Van Slyke was 4-for-19 with a home run and two walks against Moyer), a fact that amazed the younger Van Slyke.

"Did he? That's crazy," Van Slyke said on Wednesday while laughing. "I'll get some scouting reports from him."

The Dodgers lost two of three games to the Rockies last week at Coors Field. It was the only series loss to a divisional foe so far this season for the Dodgers, who are 9-4 against the National League West this season.
