George Kotarras hit a two-run double to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 5-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night at Miller Park in Milwaukee. The Dodgers were two outs away from extending their winning streak to seven games, but closer Javy Guerra (1-1) gave up a single and a walk before the double by Kotarras.
Andre Ethier hit a two-run home run off Francisco Rodriguez in the top of the eighth inning to give the Dodgers a 4-3 lead. Ethier now has 17 RBI, surpassing teammate Matt Kemp for the major league lead.
Chad Billingsley allowed two runs in six innings on Tuesday, but was pinch hit for in the top of the seventh. Billingsley has a 1.33 ERA after three starts with 17 strikeouts and just one walk in 20 1/3 innings.
Jose Veras (1-0) pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning to earn the win for the Brewers. Matt Gamel hit his first home run of the season for Milwaukee and also stole a base, his third.
Former Brewer Chris Capuano starts for the Dodgers on Wednesday night in Milwaukee, facing Zack Greinke.
