Dodgers Spring Training 2012: Clayton Kershaw, Chris Capuano, Tryout Camp

Day 10 at Los Angeles Dodgers spring training camp at Camelback Ranch saw a relatively healthy camp, with all 62 players in big league camp participating in workouts. On the third full squad workout of camp, Kenley Jansen, Javy Guerra, among others all threw live batting practice on Wednesday.

Clayton Kershaw will throw two innings in a sort of hybrid intrasquad game / simulated game on Sunday, March 4. The game will feature minor leaguers, and will also likely have Chris Capuano and Stephen Fife pitch.

The Dodgers had a team record 125 people attend their open tryout Wednesday at Camelback Ranch, and reportedly signed at least one player. The signing will be announced on Friday. Left-handed starting pitcher Doug Davis was among the players who tried out for the camp.

Manager Don Mattingly said starting pitcher Ted Lilly threw 10 times off a mound on his own prior to reporting to camp. Lilly hopes for a better start to his season than in 2011, and to pitch more like he did during the final two months, when he put up a 2.09 ERA with 64 strikeouts in 69 innings over his final 11 starts.
