The Phoenix Desert Dogs beat up the Mesa Solar Sox 8-3. After falling behind 1-0 in the second inning, Phoenix put up three runs in the second inning, scored another run in the fifth, sixth and seventh inning each, then added two more runs in the eighth. Mesa put up runs in the second, third and sixth innings, managing seven hits overall to Phoenix's 12.
Mesa's Jarred Cosart pitched three innings, giving up five hits and only one earned run, but three runs were scored thanks to an error. Phoenix's Zeke Spruill earned the win, pitching five innings, giving up three hits and two earned runs, while striking out two.
Only two members of the Dodgers participated for the Solar Sox. Rafael Ynoa hit a triple from the ninth spot and scored a run. Joc Pederson pinch hit for L.J. Hoes in left field, striking out once and not hitting in his two plate appearances.
