Los Angeles Dodgers catching prospect Gorman Erickson struggled offensively in Double-A last season, but has performed well during the Arizona Fall League. He had another solid day in the AFL on Friday, reaching base four times.
Erickson, playing for the Mesa Solar Sox, went 1-2 on Friday with a double. He drove in one run, scored one run and reached base in four of his five plate appearances as he walked three times. Erickson is now batting .300 in eight AFL games and has a four-game hitting streak. While Erickson had a solid day on Friday, Dodgers second base prospect Rafael Ynoa did not. Ynoa hit leadoff for the Solar Sox, but went 0-5 with a strikeout. Despite the rough day on Friday, Ynoa is still hitting .319 in 13 AFL games.
Pitching prospect Eric Eadington also had a rough outing on Friday, as he allowed two runs over 2/3-innings. Eadington had control issues on Friday, walking three batters. Eadington has now allowed five earned runs in 6-1/3 AFL innings.
