The Mesa Solar Sox defeated the Phoenix Desert Dogs 8-3 on Saturday in Arizona Fall League action, as two Los Angeles Dodgers prospects were in action for Mesa.
Joc Pederson played center field and was 0-2 from the plate, but did walk twice and scored one run batting from the eighth position. Pederson spent the 2012 season at single-A advanced Rancho Cucamonga, where he hit .313 with 18 home runs and 70 RBI in 110 games for the Quakes. He was also named as one of 2013's top 50 hitting prospects by Minor League Ball.
Catcher Gorman Erickson was also in action for Mesa, which houses a handful of Dodgers prospects for fall action. Erickson was 0-1 from the plate, playing just part of the game in relief of fellow catcher James McCann. Erickson hit .234 with three home runs in 94 games with double-A Chattanooga in 2012.
The Solar Sox are 3-2 on the young AFL season, and take a break Sunday before playing Peoria on Monday.
