The Los Angeles Dodgers battle their longtime rivals, the San Francisco Giants on Saturday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Dana Eveland gets the start for the Dodgers, on a cool eight days rest after beating the Pirates on September 1. Ryan Vogelsong gets the start for San Francisco.
Rookie Justin Sellers, who has shown range at both shortstop and second base in his month in the major leagues, gets the start Saturday night at third base for the first time. Sellers previously made 17 starts at shortstop and five more at second base. Sellers made 15 starts at third base for Triple A Albuquerque this season. Manager Don Mattingly said this week that Sellers and fellow rookie Jerry Sands would play nearly every day through the end of the season to get them reps against major league pitching.
