Clayton Kershaw Looks For Sixth Straight Win In Series Finale In Phoenix

Kershaw this season has not allowed an earned run to Arizona in two starts.

Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers go for the series sweep Sunday afternoon against Ian Kennedy and the Diamondbacks in a battle of 13-game winners at Chase Field in Phoenix. The Dodgers are 4-1 in the first five games of a six-game road trip. Kershaw has won each of his last five starts.

Kershaw won the National League Pitcher of the Month award in July after going 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA. He started off August on the right foot Monday night in San Diego, with a complete game win over the Padres. Kershaw leads the National League with 177 strikeouts and is nine behind Justin Verlander for the major league lead. In two starts against Arizona this season, Kershaw has not allowed an earned run, both wins.

Kennedy is 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in two starts against the Dodgers this season. Rod Barajas in three starts this week has seven hits in 12 at-bats. The Dodgers are 10-5 in their last 15 games.
