Clayton Kershaw On Quite A Roll For Dodgers

Clayton Kershaw at 23 years old is having a fantastic season. He continued his great run Monday night with a complete-game win over the Padres, his 11th win in his last 13 starts. Kershaw won the National League Pitcher of the Month award in July, and he has continued on that path in August:

  • July: 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA in five starts, with 45 strikeouts in 36 innings
  • ↵
  • August: 5-1 with a 1.55 ERA in six starts, with 39 strikeouts in 46 innings

Cliff Lee is 4-0 in four starts in August, with one remaining, and has allowed two total runs in 31 innings, so it will be tough for Kershaw to win back-to-back monthly awards. But Kershaw still had a great month and perhaps more importantly, won the respect of his teammates:
