Dodgers Vs. Rockies: Ted Lilly Looks To Continue August Roll

Ted Lilly has a 1.71 ERA in three August starts, though his record is 0-3.

Ted Lilly looks to continue his strong August as the Los Angeles Dodgers continue their weekend series against the Colorado Rockies Saturday afternoon at Coors Field in Denver. The Dodgers won Friday's series opener 8-2 behind Rod Barajas and Hiroki Kuroda. Esmil Rogers gets the start Saturday for Colorado.

Lilly has seemingly taken the mantle from Kuroda on the Dodgers staff as the pitcher pitching well enough to win but not getting any support. Lilly has allowed four runs and 12 hits in 21 innings in three starts in August, a 1.71 ERA, with four walks and 18 strikeouts, yet is 0-3. The Dodgers have scored one run in his three August starts.

Against the Rockies this season, Lilly is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts this season, including a win at Coors Field on June 11. The Dodgers are 7-6 against the Rockies this season, including winning five of their last six meetings.

Rogers is 6-2 with a 6.00 ERA this season, including 5-2 with a 5.21 ERA in seven starts, with 27 walks and 37 strikeouts in 45 innings. Troy Tulowitzki hit two doubles Friday night, giving him a new career high with 34 two-baggers this season.

Saturday's 1:10 p.m. PDT will not be televised. For more news and information on the Dodgers, be sure to read True Blue LA.
