The Dodgers announced Tuesday that, as expected, Rubby De La Rosa will in fact undergo Tommy John surgery to repair his sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. This effectively ends this season and likely all of next season as well. This is clearly a low point in the Dodgers season full of them.
On the field tonight, the Dodgers battle the Padres in San Diego in the second game of a three-game series at Petco Park. Hiroki Kuroda starts for the Dodgers, facing Mat Latos of the Padres. Here are tonight's starting lineups:
