The Los Angeles Dodgers have a chance to play spoiler with a four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park, but it won't be easy. Milwaukee holds a five-game lead over the Cardinals in the National League Central.
Ted Lilly starts the opener for the Dodgers. Though he lost his last outing, the start was one of his most impressive of the season, pitching eight innings and allowing two runs against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. Lilly on the season is 7-12 with a 4.71 ERA, though in his last two starts he has allowed just three runs in 14 innings, with two walks and 12 strikeouts.
Former Dodger Randy Wolf gets the start for Milwaukee, making the series opener a battle of southpaws. Wolf is 9-8 with a 3.48 ERA on the season, and has won his last three starts, allowing six runs in 21 innings during that span. Wolf lost to the Dodgers 3-0 at Dodger Stadium on May 17, as these two clubs split a brief two-game series.
