Dodgers Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw Named NL All-Stars

The rosters for the 2011 MLB All-Star Game were revealed on Sunday morning on TBS, and the Dodgers will be represented by their two brightest stars. Matt Kemp and Clayton Kershaw both were named to the National League squad, Kemp as a starter. Here are the NL starters:

  • Brian McCann C
  • Prince Fielder 1B
  • Rickie Weeks 2B
  • Placido Polanco 3B
  • Jose Reyes SS
  • Ryan Braun OF
  • Matt Kemp OF
  • Lance Berkman OF

It is the first All-Star selection for both Kemp and Kershaw. Kemp is hitting .327/.410/.617 this season with 22 home runs and 22 steals, and leads the National League in home runs, slugging percentage, OPS, OPS+, and total bases. Kershaw is 8-4 with a 3.23 ERA, and leads the major leagues with 138 strikeouts. Kershaw has pitched three complete games this season, including two shutouts.

The All-Star Game will be played Tuesday, July 12 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
