The Dodgers and Giants renew their rivalry for three games beginning Monday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco. With the ballpark, the offenses (Dodgers and Giants are 14th & 15th, respectively, in the NL in runs per game), and these pitching staffs, expect a low-scoring series. Here are the pitching matchups:
Tonight - Chad Billingsley (8-7, 3.87 ERA, 3.42 FIP) vs. Ryan Vogelsong (6-1, 2.17, 3.73)
See tonight's game preview here.
Tuesday - Rubby De La Rosa (3-4, 3.74, 3.63) vs. Madison Bumgarner (4-9, 3.74, 2.46)
The rookie De La Rosa has been stellar of late, allowing four runs in his last three starts, and taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning in one start, then into the fifth inning in his last start. After getting bombed by the Twins (eight runs, one out recorded), Bumgarner has a 2.73 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings, and the Giants have won all four starts.
Wednesday - Clayton Kershaw (10-4, 2.88, 2.51) vs. Tim Lincecum (8-7, 2.99, 2.70)
The series finale gives us the best pitching matchup of the series. Unfortunately, the game is a day game so many will miss it while at work.
Tonight's 7:15 p.m. PDT game will be televised by Prime Ticket. For more news and information on the Dodgers, or on tonight's game, be sure to read the SB Nation blog True Blue LA.
