Dodgers Place Rod Barajas On Disabled List, Recall A.J. Ellis From Triple A Albuqerque

Before Sunday's series finale with the Houston Astros, the Dodgers placed catcher Rod Barajas on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained right ankle. Barajas injured the ankle in Saturday's game with Houston, and left in the fifth inning. Barajas had his foot in a boot on Sunday morning. A.J. Ellis was recalled from Triple A Albuquerque to take his place.

Barajas is second on the Dodgers with eight home runs this season, but is hitting just .220/.262/.385. Ellis began the season with the Dodgers, with Dioner Navarro on the DL, and had four singles and four walks in 19 plate appearances. The 30-year old Ellis was hitting .307/.482/.426 in Triple A this season.
