Depleted Dodgers Lose To Cubs, 5-1
The Dodgers lost their series finale with the Cubs Wednesday, 5-1, thanks to three Chicago home runs off Ted Lilly, but of bigger concern to Los Angeles are a trio of injuries. Jonathan Broxton complained of elbow soreness, and had an MRI today. Results of the MRI weren't known as of 20 minutes after the game, but it appears likely the closer could end up on the disabled list.

Hold That Streak: Sore Elbows Sideline Andre Ethier, Jonathan Broxton
First came news Wednesday morning that closer Jonathan Broxton was shut down with a sore left elbow. Broxton will undergo an MRI today, and may or may not go on the disabled list. Then, less than an hour before game time, Andre Ethier, he of the 29-game hitting streak, was a late scratch from the lineup with left elbow inflammation.
