Kershaw Dominates, Dodgers Trounce Marlins 8-0

Clayton Kershaw was magnificent on Sunday, pitching his second career shutout, leading the Dodgers to an 8-0 win over the Marlins at Dodger Stadium. The win gave the Dodgers a series win, something they hadn't done at home since April 18-21. Kershaw allowed just two hits and a walk, while striking out 10 Marlins.

"He was using the breaking ball, change-up and slider right out of the gate," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said of Kershaw. "If he can located and get ahead in the count, he's a handful for anyone." Kershaw even had two hits of his own at the plate, and scored two runs. The Dodgers offense pounded out a season-high 17 hits.

"Hopefully we can build upon this offensively and obviously winning the series and move forward with Colorado," Mattingly said. Rafael Furcal had three hits, including his first home run since last July in the win. The Dodgers open up a three-game series with the Rockies Monday night at home.
