Manager Don Mattingly said Juan Uribe needed a day off, which is why Juan Castro is starting at third base today. Uribe has two hits in 31 at-bats since getting hit on the hand by a pitch by Carlos Zambrano on May 4. Jerry Sands, who was removed for a pinch hitter in the eighth inning on Saturday, gets the day off as well, with Tony Gwynn in left field.
