Dodgers Vs. Padres: Hong-Chih Kuo Activated From Disabled List, Starting Lineups, Etc

The Dodgers before Sunday's game with the Padres activated relief pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo from the disabled list. Kuo, who set a Dodgers franchise record with a 1.20 ERA last season, has had trouble throwing strikes this season and was on the disabled list with a lower back strain. To make room for Kuo, the Dodgers optioned Kenley Jansen to Double A.

Jansen had a pair of bad outings this season, and at times has had trouble with control of his offspeed pitches, but he also has 22 strikeouts in 13 1/3 innings, so the Dodger bullpen will miss his arm. Really, the only reason Jansen is being sent down is because he has options, while mop-up man Lance Cormier remains on the roster. Here are today's starting lineups:

Padres (10-17)

Venable RF
Bartlett SS
Headley 3B
Hundley C
Hudson 2B
Maybin CF
Hawpe 1B
Patterson LF
Moseley P

Dodgers (14-14)

Gwynn LF
Miles 2B
Ethier RF
Kemp CF
Uribe 3B
Loney 1B
Navarro C
Carroll SS
Garland P
