The Dodgers and Padres will resume their suspended game from Friday night before Saturday night's regularly schedule game at Petco Park in San Diego. The game is tied 2-2 in the top of the ninth inning, with Matt Kemp on first base, and Juan Uribe batting for the Dodgers. Heath Bell is the pitcher on the mound for the Padres, while Hong-Chih Kuo is still technically the pitcher for Los Angeles.
The resumption of that suspended game will begin at 5:30 p.m. PDT, and will be televised by KCAL. The Dodgers and Padres will then begin a new game, roughly 25-30 minutes after that contest. Hiroki Kuroda is expected to start for the Dodgers in the nightcap, opposed by Dustin Moseley of the Padres.
Chad Billingsley, who is scheduled to start Tuesday in San Francisco, was held back from his throw day, and will be available to pitch tonight, in either the first or second game if needed. Rafael Furcal, who is still in the first game lineup, hurt his left wrist on a check swing earlier in the week in Colorado, is having trouble when swinging, but not in the field. He will continue to play in the first game, but will sit out the second game. Manager Don Mattingly said he hopes to have Furcal ready to play Sunday.
