As the Los Angeles Dodgers go for a sweep of the San Diego Padres today at Petco Park, both teams made roster moves before Sunday's finale. The Dodgers recalled John Ely from Triple A Albuquerque to make the start today, and the club placed catcher Hector Gimenez on the 15-day disabled list with right knee pain to make room on the roster for Ely. The Dodgers were carrying three catchers, but now they have two -- Rod Barajas and A.J. Ellis -- to go with 12 pitchers. Here are today's lineups:
Rafael Furcal still sits with a left wrist injury that has been giving him trouble while swinging a bat.
Eric Patterson was activated from the 15-day disabled list, and is starting today in center for San Diego. The Padres also recalled pitcher Wade LeBlanc from Triple A, and optioned pitcher Samuel Deduno and outfielder Cedric Hunter to Triple A Tucson.
