Dodgers Spring Training: Ng Leaves, Kuroda Starts B Game Against Seattle, Ely To Face Brewers

The Dodgers head to Phoenix today to battle the Brewers at Maryvale Stadium, but the biggest news came from the front office. Kim Ng, the Dodgers' vice president and assistant general manager, has left the club after nine seasons to join MLB as a senior vice president of baseball operations. Ng will work under Joe Torre, with home she worked in New York with the Yankees (from 1998-2001) and in Los Angeles, for the last three years. Ng, who interviewed for the Dodgers' GM job in 2005 and with Seattle in 2008, told Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times that she still wants to be a general manager:

"In terms of my long-term aspirations, they're still there," Ng said Tuesday. "If anything, this makes me a more well-rounded candidate."

On the field today, the Dodgers will send John Ely to the mound to face the Brewers. Ron Mahay, Travis Schlichting, and Javy Guerra are also scheduled to pitch for the Dodgers. Hiroki Kuroda is pitching in a B game this morning at Camelback Ranch against the Mariners, a game added to the schedule so that both clubs could get extra work in for their pitchers. Former Dodger Takashi Saito gets the start for Milwaukee today, as the Brewers plan to use several relievers in today's contest. Here are today's lineups:
