Dodgers To Honor Duke Snider With Memorial Uniform Patch, Celebration Of His Life, & Bobblehead Doll

The Dodgers will wear a commemorative patch in memory of Hall of Fame outfielder Duke Snider throughout the 2011 season, the club announced today. In addition, the Dodgers will hold a celebration of Snider's life on August 9, and fans at that game will receive a Snider bobblehead doll. Prior to that August 9 game against the Philadelphia Phillies, Snider's family will take part in a pregame ceremony honoring the Hall of Famer.

The last time the Dodgers wore a memorial patch was in 2000, honoring Hall of Fame shortstop Pee Wee Reese. Snider's No. 4 is one of 10 numbers retired by the Dodgers. Snider is the Dodgers' all-time franchise leader with 389 home runs and 1,271 RBI. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1980.
