If you might recall, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul was nearly traded to that other team in Los Angeles before the trade was vetoed. The Lakers made a huge bid for CP3 that involved dealing Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, but the NBA (who owned Paul's Hornets at the time) nixed the deal and eventually made a trade with the Clippers because they perceived their offer to be a better deal.
CP3 said it all worked out in the end though. Arash Markazi of ESPN.com has the report.
"They had the better pieces," Paul said. "And winning with the Clippers would be legendary."
The Clippers did indeed perform as strongly as the Lakers, as both made it to the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs before falling to superior opponents. But things do definitely have to look bright for Paul and the Clippers if he decides to stick around past his free agency period.
Do you think Paul is telling the truth? Or do you believe he'd rather have been a Laker?
