The Los Angeles Clippers have received Willie Green in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks to further upgrade a position of weakness from last season.
Welcome to Clipper Nation Willie Green! Acquired today from the Hawks in exchange for draft rights to Schortsanitis. on.nba.com/Ng7m99

Green gives the Clippers another strong small forward presence, likely off the bench with Caron Butler and Grant Hill already on the team and the likely competitors to start at small forward. At 31 years old he's on the downside of his career, but he can still shoot effectively from the outside and will provide more necessary perimeter shooting to stretch the floor.
The Hawks received the rights to draft pick Sofo Schortsanitis for this trade, which means it's pretty much a salary dump on Atlanta's side. Schortsanitis was selected in the 2nd round with the 34th pick of the 2003 NBA Draft by the Clippers. He has never played in the league though; his closest flirtation was after his contract expired with Olympiacos and participated in Summer League with the team.
