NBA Free Agency 2012: Ray Allen To Visit With Clippers

Every team needs shooters. So it isn't a surprise that the greatest three-point shooter in the history of the game has multiple suitors for his services in this his free agent summer.

Ray Allen, of Boston Celtics' Big Three fame, is taking the pitches of different teams and the Los Angeles Clippers will get their turn, according to ESPN reports.

Allen will visit with the Clippers on Friday after visiting with the Miami Heat on Thursday, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. The Clippers can offer Allen the full mid-level exception and a possible starting spot in the backcourt next to Chris Paul.

The Clippers will compete with the Celtics, Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks in the bidding war for Allen.

The Celtics are aware of the competition for their star.

"I don't know," said Celtics head coach Doc Rivers. "We're working hard. He has a lot of options and that's the bad news for us. It'll be interesting. I wish I had a feel on it. Usually I do. But I can tell you in this one I don't."
