The United States men's basketball team will have to deal with another defection. Lamar Odom (who is on his way to the Clippers) is not going to retain his spot on the team.
Lamar Odom tells ESPNLA he will skip Team USA this summer and work with trainers in L.A. and focus on this season.

This would've been Odom's second Olympic team if he had made the cut. Odom was on the 2004 Olympic team that ended up winning a bronze medal in Athens. However, it did seem like there was a good shot he'd be available to play on the US Men's National Team after doing a great job being the primary rebounder for the team at the World Championships in Spain. Now the team will be short yet another big man, as Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis, Lamarcus Aldridge and now Odom have all dropped out of consideration.
