The Los Angeles Clippers still aren't quite sure who they're going to land in free agency, but they do know they're probably going to need a shooting guard in the near future. It seems they're ready to address those needs with Jamal Crawford. Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld has the following.
The Los Angeles Clippers are in advanced talks with unrestricted free agent Jamal Crawford, according to sources close to the situation.
The Clippers are aggressively pursuing Crawford, and are hoping to fly the 32-year-old guard out to Los Angeles later this week for a face-to-face meeting. No deal is imminent, but the talks are ongoing.
Crawford is an older player at 32 years old and is coming off of career lows in points per game, overall field goal percentage, and three point field goal percentage. However, Los Angeles is pretty weak at the shooting guard and small forward spot and need someone who knows how to play well off of Chris Paul. With uncertainty surrounding Nick Young, Chauncey Billups and Randy Foye, the Clippers need to get a shooting guard sometime soon.
