L.A. Clippers Rumors: Marco Belinelli Could Be Acquired, According To Report

The Los Angeles Clippers are looking to fill out their roster after handing out some big deals this offseason. Now with Blake Griffin locked up for the near future with a monster contract, the team is now looking at Italian sharpshooter Marco Belinelli, according to a report.

Bellinelli played last season with the New Orleans Hornets and averaged 11.8 points-per-game. The main reason he's of interest to the Clippers: he's just under 40% in his career from behind the 3-point arc.

Here's the latest report on the situation from ESPN.

One of the players the Clippers have interest in is Italian sharpshooter Marco Bellinelli, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. [...]

The Clippers have discussed signing Bellinelli with their mini mid-level exception and various sign-and-trades with the Hornets, one of which involves small forward Ryan Gomes and a pick heading to New Orleans.

Bellinelli would not be expensive to acquire and he could serve as a nice shooting option off the bench, but he could be buried in the rotation if everyone is able to stay healthy.
