Clippers Vs. Spurs, 2012 NBA Playoffs Game 3: Final Score 96-86 As Spurs Take Game 3, Lead Series 3-0

The Los Angeles Clippers looked strong early in game three of their series versus the San Antonio Spurs, but they were unable to maintain that momentum and ended up losing the game 96-86. The series now stands 3-0 for the Spurs, and the Clippers face elimination tomorrow night in Los Angeles.

The Clippers played like a team posessed in the first half of the game, going on a 26-4 tear as the first quarter drew to a close. They led by as many as twenty, but it was around midway through the second quarter that that momentum faded and the Spurs began their comeback. It was 53-43 at the half, but between eight minutes left in the second quarter and about the same point in the third quarter the Spurs went on a 40-17 run, and by midway through the third quarter it was all tied at 57. Things stayed with the Spurs, and they outscored the Clippers 53-33 in the second half on route to the win.

Blake Griffin had the strongest game for the Clippers, scoring 28 points, picking up 16 rebounds and 3 blocks. Mo Williams added another 19 points, but in the end the Spurs offensive efficiency overwhelmed Los Angeles again.

Game four of the series is Sunday night in Los Angeles, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30pm PDT.
