NBA Playoffs, Clippers Vs. Grizzlies: Game 7 Preview

The Los Angeles Clippers hope the third time is the charm as they try, again, to eliminate the Memphis Grizzlies in their first round NBA playoff series. Game 7 is at FedEx Forum in Memphis on Sunday morning on ABC, with the Clippers trying to accomplish something they have never done before.

The Clippers are playing their third playoff Game 7 in franchise history, and they have lost both of their previous tries. The Clippers lost 127-107 to the Phoenix Suns in Game 7 of the 2006 Western Conference semifinals, and the Buffalo Braves lost 115-96 to the Washington Capitals in Game 7 of the 1975 Eastern Conference semifinals.

Chris Paul was limited to 11 points and seven assists in Game 6 with a right hip flexor, and Blake Griffin had just five rebounds and 17 points on Friday with a sprained left knee. Both are listed as game time decisions for the Clippers, but you can bet the house that they will both play on Sunday.

Memphis is trying to become the ninth team in NBA history to win a series after being down three games to one. The last team to do so was the Phoenix Suns, who beat the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round in 2006, then advanced to play the Clippers in the aforementioned conference semifinals.

Sunday's Game 7 will be televised at 10 a.m. PDT by ABC. For more in depth discussion and analysis of the Los Angeles Clippers, be sure to read Clips Nation. For more on the Grizzlies, check out Straight Outta Vancouver.
