The Memphis Grizzlies took a dominant first quarter lead, and they haven't let it go. Despite a solid run by their second unit that helped cut a 20-something lead to 11, Memphis went on an 8-0 run to finish off the half to put themselves up 19 at the half.
Tony Allen had to restrain the excited bench during the run.
Marc Gasol has 14 points and four assists, Rudy Gay put up nine points and five rebounds, O.J. Mayo put up nine points, and Tony Allen and Marreese Speights each had six points. Memphis is shooting 50% and have nailed five of their six threes; the Clippers are shooting 41% and have only one triple to their name.
Nick Young has provided a spark off the bench for the Clippers with ten points, and Caron Butler has eight, but Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are a combined 1-7 shooting with three turnovers. Safe to say the Clips will need a lot more from their superstars if they plan on coming back and winning this one.
The Clippers do have some nice dunks though.
