The Los Angeles Lakers now have Ramon Sessions. Must mean they're doing something right. They're secure in the no. 5 spot in ESPN.com's NBA Power Rankings. But they did state some worry in that Kobe Bryant is in the running to lead the league in minutes. With the playoffs looming, that might not be a good thing.
CBS Sportsline puts the Lakers at no. 6 or as they like to call them, ‘The Inexplicable Los Angeles Lakers.' Eh. They tried.
ESPN ranks the Los Angeles Clippers at no. 12. Even though the Clippers are mired in coaching hot seats and slumping play that included a baffling loss to the New Orleans Hornets during Chris Paul's return, they are still only the third incarnation of the Clippers since 1984 to be more than five games over .500 this late in the season. Man, Donald Sterling really knows how to keep bad teams around. Sheesh.
Sportsline also ranks the Clippers at no. 12 and won't turn the ownership of Staples Center over to the newbies until the Clippers prove they can defend. Until then, it's still the Lakers' building.
