The Los Angeles Lakers lost three games last week to fall to 9-12 on the season and they dropped five spots to 20th in Seth Rosenthal's NBA power rankings on SB Nation.

The Lakers lost to Houston, Oklahoma City and Utah last week while their only win came against a struggling New Orleans Hornets team that has lost three straight games and has opened the season with a 5-14 record.

The Lakers are in third in the Pacific division standings and sit 5.5 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Clippers.

The Clippers went 4-0 last week as they beat Utah, Dallas, Phoenix and Toronto to improve to 14-6 on the season. The Clippers jumped two spots from seventh to fifth in the power rankings this week.

The Clippers currently have a one-game lead over second-place Golden State in the Pacific Division as the Warriors have won three straight games and are 13-7 overall.
