Lamar Odom to return for Clippers on opening night

Barring a setback in shootaround, Lamar Odom will return to the Clippers on Wednesday.

Lamar Odom is scheduled to play in the Los Angeles Clippers' season opener against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday despite missing the last five preseason games, according to Arash Markazi of ESPN LA.

Odom practiced on Monday and Tuesday after missing the previous two weeks of practices due to bone bruises in his knees. Odom also used the time to get back into shape as he came into training camp overweight.

Odom last appeared on the court on Oct. 15 when the Clippers defeated the Miami Heat 99-89 in Shanghai. Odom had four points, three assists and two rebounds off the bench.

Head Coach Vinny Del Negro said "he hasn't practiced in a while but he's looking good." Del Negro will see how Odom feels on Wednesday before making the final decision on his status for the team's opener versus Memphis.

The Clippers acquired Odom in the off-season in a four-team trade with Dallas, Utah and New Jersey in which they sent guard Mo Williams to Utah.
