Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers will travel to Shanghai, China to take on the reigning NBA champion Miami Heat in an exhibition game that will be each team's third of the 2012 preseason on Sunday. The Clippers' superstar guard will likely suit up for the first time in the preseason after being cleared for full contact while the team practiced in Beijing.
The Clippers have plenty of new arrivals, and one of them, Jamal Crawford, has made his presence known early as he leads the team in scoring during the preseason with 17.5 points per game. Among the injuries of note are that of Chauncey Billups (left Achilles tendon) and Trey Thompkins (knee).
Caron Butler, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Willie Green and Paul figure to be the starters for the Clippers.
The last time the Heat and Clippers met in the preseason was Oct. 11 in Beijing as part of the NBA China Games 2012 series. The heat won the first game in Bejing, 94-80, and the Clippers will look to even the series in Shanghai. The Heat appear to be fully healthy as no players were listed on the team's injury report prior to tip-off.
The game will air nationally live on NBA TV at 9:30 a.m. PT.
