We live in a world where an NBA superstar is putting the Los Angeles Clippers ON their trade list. It's a brave, new world indeed.
Chris Sheridan says that Howard has added the Clips to his short-list that includes the New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. His agent has been given permission to speak with those three teams but it's unclear if he can speak with the Clippers just yet.
They might have to sell everything in order to get him but the idea of Chris Paul, Dwight Howard and spare parts would still be enough to cause concern in Lakersville. And make the Clippers as relevant as they've ever been.
There are still a lot of moving parts that would need to stop working in order for Howard to end up with the Clippers. The Nets would love to pair Howard with Deron Williams in Brooklyn. The Mavericks are working on a play to get both Howard and Williams in Texas. And the Lakers are the Lakers. Of course, he could also remain in Orlando, depending on what ownership wants to do.
