Clippers Vs. Heat: Game Preview

Blake Griffin, Baron Davis, and the Los Angeles Clippers have a daunting task ahead of them today, trying to complete a season sweep of the Miami Heat with a win in south Florida over LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and friends. The Clippers, who beat Miami on January 12 in Los Angeles with an inspired effort, will try to become just the third team this season to beat the 36-14 Heat twice, joining Boston and Dallas.

The Clippers will try to improve on their 3-16 road record in today's second contest of their eight-game road trip before the All-Star break. The Heat are 18-5 at home, so today is a tall order for the Clips. Here are today's probable starting lineups:

Clippers (19-30)

  • Point Guard: Baron Davis
  • Shooting Guard: Randy Foye
  • Small Forward: Ryan Gomes
  • Power Forward: Blake Griffin
  • Center: DeAndre Jordan

Eric Gordon is still listed as day-to-day with a small bone fracture in his right wrist, as are the usual injury report suspects Chris Kaman (aggravated bone bruise in left ankle) and Craig Smith (herniated disc).

Heat (36-14)

  • Point Guard: Mario Chalmers
  • Shooting Guard: Dwyane Wade
  • Small Forward: LeBron James
  • Power Forward: Chris Bosh
  • Center: Zydrunas Ilgauskas

The only player on Miami's injury report is Udonis Haslem, who has been out since late November after undergoing surgery to repair a torn Lisfranc ligament in his left foot.
