2011 Super Bowl Pregame: Blake Griffin Battles LeBron James Before Packers Vs. Steelers

The quasi-national holiday of Super Bowl Sunday is now upon us, with the six-time Super Bowl winning Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the three-time Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers. However, since the kickoff isn't until shortly after 3:30 p.m. PST, we need something to bide our time during the pregame. Because eight hours of blathering from various NFL talking heads is not anyone's idea of a good time, I recommend turning your televison-watching and gambling attention to the NBA, where Blake Griffin and the Clippers are in Miami to battle LeBron James and the Heat.

At 9 a.m. on Prime Ticket, the Clippers try to complete their improbable season sweep against Miami's Big Three (well, Big Two plus one, anyway) of James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh. The Clippers already beat the Heat in Los Angeles last month. Since this is a nation of gamblers, here are a few proposition bets available at Bodog which combine this game with the Super Bowl:

  • Which will be higher today: Aaron Rodgers completions, or Dwyane Wade points? Wade is the -125 favorite here.
  • ↵
  • Which will be higher today: James Harrison tackles and assists, or LeBron James assists? This is a pick 'em.

At 11:30 a.m. on ABC, you can continue to get your NBA fix with a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Finals, as the Orlando Magic are in Boston to take on the Celtics. For more information related to today's biggest game, be sure to check out SB Nation's ongoing Super Bowl coverage.
