Clippers Vs. Bulls: Derrick Rose Nearly Gets Triple Double As Clips Lose Home Opener 114-101

Derrick Rose scored 29 points, dished out 16 assists, and grabbed eight rebounds on Friday night, as the Chicago Bulls pulled away from the Los Angeles Clippers 114-101 at Staples Center. The game was tied at 77-77 with 2:39 remaining in the third quarter but the Bulls went on a 26-11 run over the next nine minutes to help cement the win. Rose scored 18 of his 29 points in the second half.

Blake Griffin scored 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in the loss. Chris Paul had his first double-double as a Clipper, with 15 points and 14 assists, with four steals. Mo Williams added 13 points in 33 minutes starting in place of Chauncey Billups, who sat out Friday night with a strained right groin. All five starters for the Clippers scored in double figures.

The Bulls outrebounded the Clippers 45-31, and had 29 assists for their 39 field goals made, shooting 50.0% on the night.

The Clippers will look to snap their two-game losing streak on Sunday night as they host the Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center.
