Angels Vs. Tigers Final Score: Halos Capture Series With Easy 6-1 Win

The Los Angeles Angels continue their hot streak. They defeated the Detroit Tigers at the Big A on Saturday night, touching Justin Verlander for six runs in a 6-1 win.

The Angels started roughing up Verlander right away, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning to grab a quick 4-0 lead. Mike Trout led off the home half of the first with his 26th home run of the year. Howie Kendrick followed up with a two-run double and Vernon Wells followed with another RBI double.

Kendrys Morales hit an RBI double in the third inning to drive in Albert Pujols and make it 5-0 Halos. The Tigers finally got on the board in the top of the fourth with an Omar Infante single, but that would be the only run the Angels would allow. Pujols hit an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to put the game away for good.

C.J. Wilson picked up his 12th win by allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 7.2 innings of work. Verlander, meanwhile, allowed all six runs on nine hits and two walks in six innings. The Angels will go for the sweep on Sunday.
