The Los Angeles Angels were unable to complete a three-game sweep of the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. Whereas on Saturday the Halos were able to best Mariners ace Felix Hernandez, the best Los Angeles pitcher was not as lucky in Sunday's 2-1 loss.
For Angels ace Jered Weaver, Jesus Montero continued to be a very unlikely nemesis. Montero launched a solo home run in the fourth inning to give the Mariners a 1-0 lead. With the shot, Montero improves his all-time record against Weaver to 4-for-8, with all four hits being home runs.
In the fifth inning, Carlos Peguero hit a second solo home run off of Weaver that proved to be the difference in the game. Howie Kendrick drove in the only Angels run in the top of the ninth inning with a two-out RBI single.
