Angels Vs. Athletics: Halos Hope To Salvage Series Behind Jered Weaver

After dropping the first three games of their four game series with the Oakland Athletics, the Los Angeles Angels are hoping they can conjure up a win on Thursday and avoid being swept by their AL West rivals.

Jered Weaver (16-4, 2.86 ERA) returns after having his last start skipped with some bicep tendinitis, making his first start since Sept. 2. He has had success against Oakland over the last two seasons, owning a 5-1 record and a 1.02 ERA. Weaver tossed a four hit complete game in Oakland on Aug. 6 en route to a 4-0 victory. The Cy Young winner is 2-0 with a 0.38 ERA in three outing against the A's this year.

Oakland will counter with Brett Anderson (4-0, 0.69), who has been outstanding in his four starts since returning from Tommy John surgery this season. He allowed just one unearned run over six innings of the A's 6-1 victory in Seattle on Saturday. He's allowed only three runs in his four starts this season combined.

First pitch is set for 12:35 p.m. PT with coverage on Fox Sports West.
