The 2013 schedule for all Major League Baseball teams was released on Wednesday, and the Los Angeles Angels will be making history one of the first teams to ever play an interleague game to start the season against the Cincinnati Reds.
That's right, the Halos will be without their DH to start the season as they head to the Great American Ballpark for a four-game set April 1-4, followed by a trip to Texas to face the Rangers April 5-7. They then will head back to Anaheim for their home opener against the Oakland A's April 9-11 and their brand new division rival Houston Astros April 12-14.
L.A. will have 12 homestands in 2013, with their longest coming in the form of a 10-day stay June 14-23 against the Yankees, Mariners and Pirates. They will have an nine-game, 11-day road trip as well, taking on the Mariners, Rays, and Brewers from Aug. 23-Sept. 1.
Some other key interleague matchups include cross-town rival Los Angeles Dodgers May 27-30, the Chicago Cubs June 4-5, July 9-10 and the St. Louis Cardinals July 2-4.
The Halos will finish the regular season with a four-game set against the Rangers in Texas from Sept. 26-29.
