The Los Angeles Angels are losing ground in the AL Wild Card race after dropping the first two games of an important four-game set with the Oakland A's this week.
Oakland leads the Wild Card race and is 4.5 games ahead of the Angels. However, with the addition of a second Wild Card this season, Los Angeles is 2.5 games out of the final spot. There are three AL East teams above the Angels in the race.
The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles are tied for the Wild Card and the division lead, while the Tampa Rays are following closely behind, 2 games back of the leaders and 0.5 game ahead of the Angels.
The Angels are all but out of the hunt for the AL West title, as they are 7.5 games behind the Texas Rangers with 19 to play.
