Angels Vs. White Sox Final Score: Bullpen Falters Yet Again in 8-6 Loss

The Los Angeles Angels were certainly hoping to begin their three-game series against the Chicago White Sox on a more positive note. On Friday night, the Halos bullpen once again proved to be all too fallible as the Angels surrendered a lead late and allowed a walk-off victory as the Sox won 8-6 in the 10th inning. Zack Greinke is now winless in each of his first two starts with the Angels

Mark Trumbo hit an RBI single in the first inning to give Los Angeles a quick 1-0 lead. That didn't last long, as Chicago scored four quick runs off of Greinke in the bottom of the first, on an RBI single by Alex Rios and a home run from A.J. Pierzynski.

Mike Trout blasted a two-run homer in the top of the second to get the Angels right back to within a run. The home run was the 19th of the year for Trout. In the top of the third inning, Howie Kendrick and Maicer Izturis hit RBI singles to put the Halos on top, 5-4. Albert Pujols added his 23rd home run of the season in the sixth to make it 6-4.

In the bottom of the sixth, Rios hit a solo home run to bring the White Sox to within one. In the seventh, Alejandro De Aza evened things up with an RBI double. The game remained tied at the end of nine and headed to extra innings.

Hisanori Takahashi opened the 10th inning by allowing and unlikely infield single to Adam Dunn and was immediately lifted in favor of David Carpenter. The next batter, Rios, launched an 0-2 pitch over the wall in left center for the walk-off win. Takahashi took the loss.

Trout, Torii Hunter, Pujols Kendrys Morales and Izturis all had two-hit games. Rios drove in the first and last runs of the game and finished 3-for-5 with four RBI.
