Peter Bourjos Injury: Angels OF Begins Rehab Assignment In Triple A Salt Lake Monday

The Los Angeles Angels announced on Monday that outfielder Peter Bourjos will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Monday night with the Triple A Salt Lake Bees.

Bourjos has been on the disabled list since August 22 with a sore right wrist. The earliest date he can be activated from the DL is September 7.

It has been a frustrating year for Bourjos, who is hitting .227/.287/.325 in 88 games. It has been a sharp decline for the 25-year-old, who hit .271/.327/.438 with 26 doubles, 11 triples, 12 home runs, and 22 stolen bases as an every day player in 2011. After starting 138 games last season, Bourjos has found himself the odd man out in most cases in the outfield with just 47 starts this season.

Bourjos played for the Bees in 2010, hitting .314/.364/.498 with 13 doubles, 12 triples, 13 home runs, and 27 steals in 102 games in Salt Lake.
