In the bottom of the fourth, Ryan Lavarnaway and Mike Aviles hit RBI doubles to cut the Angels lead in half. The Halos answered back with one more big inning to make it 7-2 with a Howie Kendrick home run and a two-run single from Torii Hunter.

Cody Ross hit an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth, but the Red Sox were unable to get any closer as the Halos picked up the win for starter Jered Weaver.
